If you are looking for a more modern look or maybe even a traditional style central door knob, our contemporary handles may be exactly what you are looking for.
Our handle options include long bar, long square bar, short bow, long bow, classic central door knob, square door knob and finally the handless option with finger pull. All of our contemporary handles are available to have either a matching internal handle or an internal finger pull instead.
3 point slam shut latching system from GU as standard. Auto locking in 3 points for "always locked security". GU locks also offer a deadbolt system built in as standard. All contemporary handles also include the Ultion Brisant high security cylinder with thumbturn standard.
The contemporary style handle you choose for your new composite door will always be static, it will always be your key that will unlock the door for you.
Due to the unique way the contemporary handles work, they may not be suitable for everyone. To unlock the door you will always need your key. Simply insert the key in the keyhole and turn to unlock. Due to potential thermal movement in all composite doors, you may find it easier to also pull the door towards you as you turn the key. Pulling the door towards you will release some of the pressure from the 3 latches which in turn will make the door much easier to unlock. It is also worth noting the GU locks feel "heavier on the key" than standard locks, as instead of turning one latch they are turning 3.
For these reasons, we do not recommend any contemporary style handle to anyone who may struggle with this, particularly customers with children and some elderly customers.
